My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico; a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Work and a advanced degree in Educational Administration from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.
Across my career, I have had the opportunity of working across many areas of work: Child Welfare, Early Intervention, Substance Abuse, Mental Health and Gerontology across a spectrum of government, not for profit and private sector employment.
For the past 24 years, I have worked uninterrupted for the Department of Education for the City of New York in various capacities including heading a preventative program for schoolchildren called SAPIS (Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention Specialists) which provided a host of preventative services for children.
Additionally, I conducted psychotherapy specializing in individual, couple and family therapy as well as depression, anxiety, ADHD and LGBTQIA issues within a Cognitive Behavioral approach.
