A recognized expert in the field of psychotherapy, Benjamin Grysman, Ph.D., brings years of institutional training and independent research in mental health disorders to his practice at Queens Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Psychology, PLLC, in Kew Garden Hills, Flushing, New York.
Arthur Abramov uses an eclectic psychotherapy approach with a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Based Therapy, and Psycho-education, with individuals eight years of age through adulthood.
A holistic approach is utilized by exploring with and educating clients about how the mind, spirit, and body are interconnected. His theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change. He has experience working with a wide range of mental health counseling settings including Private Practice, Community Based Organizations, and Higher Education.
My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico; a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work and an advanced degree in Educational Administration from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.
Across my career, I have had the opportunity of working across many areas of work: Child Welfare, Early Intervention, Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and Gerontology across a spectrum of government, not-for-profit, and private sector employment.
When I think of counseling as an LMHC, I like to think of it as a road. A road that which neither counselor nor client can predict the future of, but will work together to move in a positive direction. I like to think of each and every client I see as an individual. A unique human being in their own way, through which I take the time to learn about. While placing emphasis on ones culture, religion, gender, personality, and other facets, I work to establish a counseling relationship, based on trust and confidentiality. Using a variety of techniques and multiple theoretical approaches I believe we will have a successful counseling relationship.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Grysman, Ph.D. I graduated from Columbia School of Social Work and have experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and symptoms such as depression and anxiety. I am also a native Spanish speaker and can conduct sessions in this language.
I use an empathic, person-centered approach combined with cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic to work on your goals. I hope to help you overcome the obstacles and challenges of life in order for you to have a more fulfilling life. The life you desire.
